International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD) takes place on the 8 March and it is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. 

Below you will find how we celebrated International Women's Day in the previous years, at SW9:

    At SW9 we're supporting International Women's Day 2022. 

    International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

    To celebrate women, we have put together a presentation of six different individuals who have famously fought for gender equality.

  • International Women's Day 2023

    International Women's Day

    This year's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity. At SW9 we're supporting International Women's Day 2023 by displaying an exhibition in our reception area.

    As the Women's World Cup and the Women's Ashes Series are due to take place in 2023, SW9 marks International Women's Day by celebrating several global female footballing and cricketing icons who show what it means to #EmbraceEquity.
